Aled Lewis

Aled Lewis is a London-based artist and photographer who inserts video game characters into real photos. Lewis aims to insert the characters into their most likely real life environment, utilising the features of the photo in creative and interesting ways.  One thing to note is that the photographs are beautiful on their own, but the photographer saw fit to add to them in an innovative and interesting way.

In this photograph, the monster has been not only placed onto a snowy backdrop as one may expect, but has also been given a shadow using editing software, making it seem like it is really present in the world of the photograph.

In this image, each blade of grass has been painstakingly cut out to give an authentic impression that the dog is really present in the field.

Here, clever use of a real-life environmental landmark has been used to represent a common trope in racing games; moving ramps.

This photograph is perhaps the most creative of the series, a supposed action-shot utilising a wrecked car. There appear to be shards of glass flying, which have either been edited in, or were actually present; the car may have been damaged specifically with the image in mind.
