Replacements
For my final series of photos in the project, I decided to do something I had not done before; explore some potential negative aspects of gaming as a growing hobby. I decided it would be interesting to explore how gaming has to an extent begun to replace certain traditional hobbies or pastimes, as it constantly grows more accessible. I did this in a similar way to my 'ghosts' photos, by taking an image of a game and including a ghostly image of an older, similar hobby in the background. Apart from the guitar hero screenshot (I do not own the game), all the screenshots were taken myself. To belend the two images I used a semitransparent eraser to remove parts of the game screenshots, allowing the image beneath to show through.

Classic strategy games such as Chess and Risk are rapidly being replaced by RTS, or 'Real-Time Strategy' games, which allow for far more complex rules and meta-games.

Dungeons and Dragons has been replaced as a hobby, with people now playing RPG games instead. Many of these are single-player only, so a social experience has been buried under interesting graphics and advanced gameplay.

Historical air combat game War Thunder encourages the collection of a variety of WW2 planes, much in the spirit of Airfix collection years ago; only without the building.
