INT.SHOP.DAY

 

ADAM enters the antique shop and begins to browse the shelves. He spots an old, battered Jack-in-the-Box and curiously picks it up. He takes the box to the till and pays for it. 

 

INT.HOUSE.KITCHEN.DAY

 

ADAM sits down at the kitchen table and looks at the JIB with a curious expression on his face. ADAM shows visible unease, but mostly confusion. ADAM hesitantly removes the tape securing the lid shut, and winds the Jack in the Box, very slowly. He is startled when the box opens. One eye of the puppet is missing. 

 

INT.HOUSE.BEDROOM.NIGHT

 

ADAM is lying in bed, staring at the ceiling. The Jack in the Box is heard playing downstairs. ADAM looks terrified. 

 

INT.HOUSE.STAIRS.NIGHT

 

ADAM tentatively descends the stairs.

 

INT.HOUSE.DINING ROOM.NIGHT

 

ADAM enters the room and looks at the Jack in the Box with visible unease. He picks the box up and locks it in an old antique suitcase. He shuts the case in a cupboard then returns to bed.

 

 

INT.HOUSE.STAIRS.DAY

 

ADAM descends the stairs.

 

INT.HOUSE.HALLWAY.DAY

 

ADAM walks towards the kitchen.

 

INT.HOUSE.KITCHEN.DAY

 

The Jack-in-the-Box is sitting on the table. ADAM approaches the box uneasily, sure he had locked it away the night before. Next to the box is a laptop, which shows a CCTV feed depitcting a man sitting at home. ADAM looks over at a photograph of his friend MARK, and compares it to the image on the screen; the same person is depicted. ADAM is visibly terrified. 

 

INT.HOUSE.KITCHEN.NIGHT

 

We see the kitchen door slam itself shut.

 

INT.HOUSE.LIVING ROOM.DAY

 

ADAM walks into the living room to find the television playing. On the television is the CCTV feed from before. ADAM is horrified to see MARK stabbing himself on the screen. 

 

INT.HOUSE.KITCHEN.NIGHT

 

ADAM is examining a bloody knife, which has appeared next to the JIB. ADAM throws both items into a black sack. 

 

EXT.HOUSE.PORCH.NIGHT

 

ADAM takes out the bin bag and places it in the outside dustbin. 

 

EXT.PLATFORM.DAY

 

ADAM is waiting for a train. ADAM glances over at a rail time sign, which reads ‘Hello Adam.’ ADAM shows fear in his expression

 

EXT.CAR.DAY

 

ADAM throws the JIB, now taped shut again, into his car boot. 

 

EXT.RIVER.DAY

 

ADAM drops the JIB into a river, then turns and walks back to his car. 

 

INT.HOUSE.STUDY.DAY

 

The vinyl record player begins to play with no human interference. 

 

INT.HOUSE.LIVING ROOM.DAY

 

ADAM witnesses another death, this time a man shooting himself, via the TV. ADAM goes to the kitchen and checks the JIB. A gun has appeared nearby. ADAM looks up, to momentarily see four clones of MARK smiling manically at him.

 

EXT.TOWN.DAY

 

ADAM walks past a TV in a shop window. As he walks past, the TV comes on and displays CCTV footage. 

 

INT.LIVING ROOM.NIGHT

 

ADAM sits with a glass of whiskey, clearly distrought. He looks up at the TV to see CCTV of himself.

 

ADAM gets up and checks for a camera. There is blatantly nothing there, even when he tests the positioning on the screen.

 

INT.HOUSE.HALLWAY.NIGHT

 

ADAM slowly backs away from an unseen attacker, brandishing a knife.

 

INT.HOUSE.BATHROOM.NIGHT

 

ADAM stands and stares at himself in the bathroom mirror. His reflection holds a knife to its throat, whilst ADAM recoils in terror.

 

INT.HOUSE.LIVING ROOM.NIGHT

 

ADAM crawls quickly backwards away from the box in fear.

 

INT.HOUSE.KITCHEN.NIGHT

 

A set of dominoes violently flies off the table. 

 

INT.HOUSE.LIVING ROOM.NIGHT

 

ADAM stands in front of the screen door. Behind him, Happy Jack appears in the window.
