Vesa Lehtimaki
At first glance, Vesa Lehtimaki's work appears quite similar to that of Zahir Batin; both heavily feature items from the ever-popular Star Wars toy range. However, what sets Lehtimaki's work apart in my opinion is the use of forced perspective in many of his images to stunningly good effect. Lehtimaki successfully makes small model ships appear life-sized, which is no mean feat considering the precision required to make a convincing illusion.

Lehtimaki cleverly uses forced perspective to create this image of a Y-Wing buried in snow. He has said in interviews that he used baking soda to give the impression of snow covering the vehicle. In order to make sure the lighting consistent, the photo of the Y wing was taken outside, lined up with the position Lehtimaki wanted to to appear as though in. However, some editing has clearly been done to help the craft blend with its surroundings better, such as making a few brances from the shrub on the right appear to be in front of the craft.

In this example, Lehtimaki has added a false shadow to the X-Wing fighter in order to make it consistent with the rest of the image. In my opinion, this is very effective, as Lehtimaki has even ensured that the areas which should be darker given their relative position to the ship and the sun are correctly shaded.
Lehtimaki has once again used branches in the foreground with this image to give depth and believability to the composition. Lehtimaki has cleverly placed the Falcon's access ramp at the end of a footpath, to make the ship seem as though deliberately and believably landed in a certain position.

In this image, Lehtimaki has given the image a real sense of depth and perspective, by photoshopping the trees' brances to appear in front of the craft. It is possible that given the amount of precision and effort required to make this happen, this is quite impressive.
